Rethinking skills development and entrepreneurship for refugees: The case of five refugee communities in India

This paper explores the understudied yet greatly relevant relationship between entrepreneurship and skills development for refugees in India from five different communities: Afghan, Rohingya, Tibetan, Chin, Somali. Building on interviews, focus groups participatory drawings 66 staff respondents, it foregrounds compounded interplay of with intersectional oppression their socio-political freedoms navigating livelihoods avenues. By combining capabilities intersectionality, argues that idea should seek to move beyond neoliberal agenda self-employment self-reliance towards well-being, social integration, holistic development.
